![]() ![]() That’s why we’ve been working on a new streaming technology called Oculus Air Link-a completely wireless way to play PC VR content on Quest 2 using WiFi, built on the successful Oculus Link streaming pipeline.Īir Link will ship in Experimental mode on Quest 2, and we’re excited to hear the community’s feedback while Air Link is in early development.Īir Link gives people more options for accessing PC VR games on Quest 2. We know gamers want to use Link without a wire-to experience the full freedom of movement offered by Quest 2 while playing the high-end titles that can only run on a gaming PC. But of course, being tethered to your PC can break immersion and limit your mobility. With a gaming PC and a compatible USB-C cable, Link has given people access to Rift’s impressive content library, including games like Asgard’s Wrath, Lone Echo, Stormland, and more. Since launching in 2019 and exiting beta last year, Oculus Link has been a widely used feature across the Quest Platform. That means we’ll unlock Air Link once both Quest and PC v28 releases are rolled out. Note: Air Link is part of v28, but it requires that both your headset and PC be running v28 software. OCULUS AIR LINK COMING SOON TO QUEST 2 IN EXPERIMENTAL MODE until then Oculus Link is good enough Display More Seems like we need to wait for the official stable version of Virtual Desktop that should eventually be able to replace Oculus Link. ![]() We do have a 5 GHz router and PC attached via LAN cable, however, the network setup might still be far from ideal and cause the issue described above. You can still teleport using your light-beam under the right controller. Overall, the solution works, however, the stream, and especially the popup menu above the left controller is glitchy and some movement modes are unavailable. You might need to uninstall your Steam VR app from your PC, as it seems to conflict with the Enscape app while streaming. You also need to activate developer mode in the Oculus menu and install the streamer app on your PC. What you need is to SIDELOAD Virtual Desktop via Sidequest after purchase and normal installation. Virtual Desktop DOES support VR stream from Enscape directly into your Oculus Quest 2. I played around with different settings and this is what I found out. There are also other free software solutions available to stream Enscape into the Oculus Quest 2 via the link cable, or even while using the Quest wirelessly, let me know if you require any further help with that.Īlso, is there any reason why you wish to use the Virtual Desktop app instead of just using Oculus Link? If you're using Virtual Desktop, then Enscape may not know that you want to use VR inside.Īs long as I'm not fully mistaken, Virtual Desktop is only being used for viewing everything in 2D so to speak, that's why you can still use non-VR applications just fine of course, but VR apps may/should not work. I am using Archicad to run Enscape plugin. I am still able to explore the model on a curved screen inside the headset, but not in VR environment like via Oculus link. It says "searching fot head-mounted display". However, when connecting via Virtual desktop app, Enscape does not recognize the headset. Oculus link works and I am able to explore my model in Enscape. Been trying to connect my PC with Oculus quest 2 headset. ![]()
